FAQs

Q:

Can I register my child for a class that is outside of his or her age group?

A:

Students must be the age stated in the class outlines by the first day of co-op classes. The Leadership Team may consider children who do not meet class requirements of admission if space is available on an individual basis, after all returning families have registered. Students inappropriately registered for a class may be placed in Study Hall for that hour. Please read class descriptions carefully to be sure your child is able to handle the homework and requirements of all the classes you choose.

Q:

My family has already registered and paid for classes but now our plans have changed.  Can we get a refund?

A:

All payments made to co-op are non-refundable.  Teachers use materials fees to purchase supplies, texts, teacher's texts, dvds, etc. for the benefit of the entire class.  You may request your portion of divisible materials (if any) that were bought with materials fees. Please keep in mind that not all materials fees are able to be divided (For example, a teacher's manual bought with class materials fees cannot be divided between students.). If you wish to do so, please inform leadership and we will contact teachers on your behalf.

Q:

What are the qualifications of teachers at Solid Rock Christian Homeschool Co-op?

A:

Very few of our teachers have formal training as teachers.  We are all homeschool parents sharing in the task of educating our children.

Q:

I have an infant/toddler and I don't want to put him/her in the nursery.  Can he/she tag along with me as I help in their siblings classes?

A:

Students who are not enrolled in a class are not to allowed to attend that class, regardless of age.

Q:

Some of my children attend public/private school.  Can they come to co-op on days when they do not have school but there is co-op scheduled?

A:

Only registered students are allowed at co-op.

Q:

We are interested in joining SRCH Co-op.  May we come and visit for a day?

A:

New families may make an appointment with leadership to attend chapel time at our co-op ([email protected]).  They are also welcome to visit during our end of the year celebration to see what we are all about.  Students will not be allowed to attend classes until they are registered at co-op.

Q:

Who do I make payments too?

A:

The $40 registration fee is to be payed via check written to Christ the Rock Church (CRCC). This will be given to Sara Leon to record and then the church will cash it.

All material fees associated with classes must be paid directly to the teacher of the classThe class description will indicate how each teacher will accept payment.

Q:

My child does not have a class during an hour, can he/she hang out with me in the parent room so I can work with him/her?

A:

The parent room is reserved for parents.  All students ages 0-18 must be registered in a class (nursery and studyhall included) for every hour that they will be attending co-op.  With so many families and jobs that need to be done, leadership cannot guarantee that parents will not have assigned jobs during an hour that their child does not have a class.  Students who do not find a suitable class during an hour may sign up for study hall or with a parent in the "over flow room," provided space is available.  Spending an hour in the "over flow room" does not count towards parental co-op duties.
